Aldershot Town manager Terry Brown is hoping that his side can make a good start to their debut season in the Nationwide Conference.
The Shots take on fellow newcomers Accrington Stanley in their opening fixture and Brown wants his squad to prove their worth early on.
He told BBC Sport Online: "The first month is going to be really important.
"It's then that we'll find out how we've adapted, and there is a big difference in the two levels. It's important we start well.
"I think we've got the players to do well. We've got experienced defenders and some exciting young forwards.
"If we make a good start I'm confident about our chances next season."
