Aldershot Town boss Gary Waddock is happy that his hard work in the transfer market has paid off this summer.

Waddock has brought in goalkeeper Clark Masters and defenders Ben Herd, Adam Hinshelwood and John Halls and is expecting good things from his new recruits.

He told the News & Mail: "It's been a busy summer. It's been a battle to try to improve the quality of the squad, given the budget, but I don't mind battles.

"I've had a few in my career. Martin Kuhl and I have worked very hard over the summer and I'm delighted that we have signed the players.

"It's clear that they are good ones."
