Shots extend Downer loan deal

Aldershot have extended the loan spell of Leyton Orient defender Simon Downer until the beginning of May to take in probable play-off action.

Downer's deal now runs until May 3, although it would have to be extended if he were to feature in a possible play-off final.

The 22-year-old has helped the Shots to three wins and a draw in six Conference games during his initial month at The Rec, although he has picked up three yellow cards in the process.

Downer will be hoping that he can celebrate his extension in style, although Terry Brown's side travel to Hednesford Town 2-0 down from the first leg of their FA Trophy semi-final.
