Shots desperate for action

Aldershot Town captain Rhys Day can't wait to return to action after a frustrating spell of League Two inactivity.

The Shots will play their first game in 18 days when they host Grimsby Town on Saturday as their previous fixture - at Rotherham United - was called off last weekend due to a waterlogged pitch.

"While you can't help the weather, we were certainly disappointed not to play," Day told the Aldershot News & Mail. "We were confident and are on a bit of a roll and wanted it to continue.

"We all had a double session to welcome us back to training on Tuesday too, so we've been kept busy and now can't wait for a game.

"Grimsby had a good result last Saturday, beating Shrewsbury, but our home form speaks for itself. I don't expect many teams to come here and get anything. We will be confident again."
