Aldershot boss Terry Brown is looking to strengthen his defensive options, with Nick Roddis ruled out for the rest of the season and Jim Rodwell having left the club.
However, Brown has been able to extend the loan stay of Millwall's Matt Rees until the start of December, following an impressive start to his Shots career.
Brown told the News & Mail: "Matt's loan deal has been extended but they've got a 24-hour call-back on him.
"They've had another centre-half at Millwall go down with a cruciate ligament injury, so I'm a little bit worried about that.
"We're actively looking at the moment for another central midfield player and another centre-half.
"I know that sounds greedy but we've just lost Nick Roddis for the rest of the year and we could lose Matt tomorrow.
"I would also like to wish Nick all the best, as he is going into hospital to have a knee operation."
