Shots appoint Dillon as boss
09 Nov 2009 - 12:14:13
Kevin Dillon has been named as Aldershot Town's new boss following Gary Waddock's decision to leave the club to take up the managerial position at Wycombe Wanderers.
The 49-year-old, who enjoyed spells at Birmingham City, Portsmouth, Newcastle United and Reading during his playing career, has signed a contract that will keep him at the Recreation Ground until the end of next season.
Acting Shots chairman John Leppard told the club's official website: "Kevin was impressive at interview. His organisational qualities and professionalism were head and shoulders above the other candidates.
"He's done extensive research regarding the club and has watched the team play on a number of occasions recently.
"He knows the style of play that we have at the club and is aware of the ability of the squad of players. He also possesses great contacts within the game.
"The whole appointment is a progressive move for the club and we're highly delighted to have Kevin on board as our new manager and we look forward to working with him."
