Lovett fills in Shots gap

Aldershot have signed defender Jay Lovett on non-contract forms from Ryman League outfit Lewes.

Lovett, 26, made his Shots bow in the 2-1 win at Halifax Town as he filled in for a number of injuries in Terry Brown's squad.

Former Brentford stopper Lovett has previous experience of Nationwide Conference football from a loan spell with Hereford United and short stints with Gravesend & Northfleet and Farnborough Town.

Lovett showed up well at The Shay as a Tim Sills double took Brown's men up to third place in the Conference.
