Day's injury to be assessed

Aldershot Town manager Gary Waddock fears that Rhys Day may be set for a short spell on the sidelines after the defender suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-0 win at Chester City.

The Shots shrugged off Day's absence in the second half at the Deva Stadium to clinch their seventh win of the season and the three points were thoroughly deserved, according to Waddock.

He said: "We hit the woodwork twice and had a goal disallowed but we finally got the goal we deserved and it didn't matter how we scored.

"To lose Rhys Day was disappointing. He felt a slight problem before kick-off and we had to take him off just before the break. You have to be careful with hamstrings and he'll be assessed.

"Now we need to carry this on against Lincoln City on Tuesday evening."
