Charles leaves Shots on loan

Aldershot centre-back Anthony Charles has joined Ryman League Division One South side Lewes on a three-month loan, after failing to make the Shots first team this season.

The 22-year-old former Crewe defender joined the Shots from Hayes just over a year ago, linking up with boss Terry Brown for a second time.

Lewes boss Steve King told lewestoday: "He's six-foot-three, wins everything, and he's naturally left-sided.

"I helped him get into Aldershot and even though he's getting over a groin operation he's been playing in the Conference this year.

"He'll make a massive difference and he was also wanted by Sutton and Kingstonian."
