Brown calm after Shots loss

Aldershot boss Terry Brown refused to get carried away after seeing his side lose for only the second time at home this season, 2-1 to Scarborough.

The Seadogs hit back from a goal down to take the points, but Brown was steering clear of the panic button.

He told the News & Mail: "I said to the players not to beat themselves over the head about the performance.

"Yes, it was a poor one and obviously we need to improve on that if we are to have a chance in the play-offs.

"These are all difficult games and we can't get too carried away by one bad performance and one bad defeat.

"There's no point going in and slaughtering the players, yes, there were two or three who didn't perform, but there wasn't one in there who wasn't bitterly disappointed.

"That's football, it's how you bounce back that matters."
