Club to receive £25k for defender. Aldershot Town are set to receive a £25k pay-out from Wycombe Wanderers following Dave Winfield opting to follow former manager Gary Waddock to the Buckinghamshire based club. The 22-year old became a free agent during the close season and although current Shots boss Kevin Dillon offered the youngster a new contract, he opted to move to Wycombe Wanderers to secure a better deal. At yesterday's hearing, the panel decided that the club will receive a payment of £25000 from Wycombe Wanderers as well as a 20% sell-on fee should the player be sold by his new club. Speaking to the clubs official website, www.theshots.co.uk Chief Executive Peter Duffy said: "We are pleased with the outcome and I am sure both clubs felt that the hearing and settlement was fair. "Dave was a valued player at Aldershot Town and had spent eight years with the club, progressing from the youth team, reserves and into the first team, where he was able to make his Football League debut.  The tribunal certainly took that into account. "We send our best wishes to Dave and thank him for his service to Aldershot Town Football Club and I am sure that the supporters will wish him well, too. "This also reinforces the fact that players can develop and progress their careers at Aldershot, which can provide them with further opportunities. "We have also benefited during the close season with the departures of Scott Donnelly (to Swansea City) and Kirk Hudson (to Brentford) where the players have moved to a higher level of football after developing their careers at Aldershot."
