Official Aldershot Town website www.theshots.co.uk has announced that Michael Rankine will be out for a month.

Shots manager Dean Holdsworth has confirmed that the injury suffered by Michael Rankine during the clubs League Two match against Gillingham is more serious than first thought and he will be sidelined for up to a month.

Speaking to the clubs official website he said: "Michael has a serious ligament injury in his leg and he will be out for up to a month and possibly more.  That is not good news for us because we need a target man.

"In addition Alex Rodman has a viral infection plus a groin injury so he is unlikely for the weekend too.  We will have to manage this.

"I am still working hard to bring more personnel in. There have been a lot of phone calls and work behind the scenes.  It has to be the right personnel for us.  They have got to be good players to come into the football club and we have got to be able to afford them."

Although there were two pieces of bad news for the boss, he will be happy that  defender Darren Jones will be available following his three match suspension.
