Petty hails Shots volunteers

Aldershot general manager Richard Petty paid tribute to supporters who helped to clear the pitch ahead of the postponed visit of Lincoln on Saturday. A deluge of snow eventually led to the match being called off on Saturday morning but not before fans helped out the club's groundstaff. Petty said: "On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to thank all the volunteers who came to the ground on Saturday morning to help remove the covers. "Taking the trouble to come out on such a cold morning is very much appreciated and it is of course a shame that your efforts came to nothing. "In the end the snow defeated us and within the space of less than half an hour the conditions changed from being game on to game very much off."
