Loanee Manny Panther has reportedly told the media that he is enjoying his spell with Conference side Grimsby Town and is hoping that he can extend his stay once his current loan spell runs out on January 7th.
Speculation surrounds the out-of-favour player as to why he hasn't been selected for the team, and it is believed that Shots manager had tried to off load him shortly after he joined the club to help free up some wages. With Manny however being unable to find a similar deal elsewhere, it is believed he opted to activate a one-year contract extention which had been written into his contract when he joined the club.
Panther appears to have found enjoyment being back on the field and speaking to the Grimsby Telegraph he said: "I'm into the last few games of my loan.
"We haven't spoken about the future yet. We need to wait and see what happens after that.
"For my part, I've enjoyed myself here and would like to help Grimsby push on further in the league and the FA Trophy.
"Since I've been here, I have loved it.
"I speak to friends in football about how things have gone and they see the results and wonder how we are in the position we are.
"The rest of the season has a bright outlook and hopefully I can be a part of it.
"As a footballer you want to play and Grimsby gave me that opportunity and I've been enjoying it."
Paul Hurst – joint manager at the Conference club along with Rob Scott, hinted that he would also like the player to stay and continued: "Manny has brought experience to the squad.
"We felt we needed that in the central area.
"He struggled a little bit with his back but has got through the worst of that.
"We are assessing his situation.
"His is complicated in terms of Aldershot and what we were able to get him in on financially.
"That may well change. So there are a lot of things to look at to determine our decision."
