Managers agree on result

Both managers agreed that Chesterfield were superior in both boxes as the league leaders won at Aldershot for the first time since 1965. Craig Davies scored his 14th goal of the season and Danny Whitaker quickly extended the lead to keep the Spireites two points clear at the summit. "We were the better team, the difference was in the two 18-yard boxes where they were far more clinical than us," said Shots boss Kevin Dillon. "We have got to be more clinical in this league, there wasn't a lot of difference between the two sides except for their front man Craig Davies. "I thought we defended well in the first half but we were far too fiddly-diddly in their box. No-one seemed to want to pull the trigger and in the game we didn't really test their keeper once. It's the basic things we are getting wrong at times and that's what's annoying. We will have to make changes as we just need to be more savvy. "The lads worked so hard to get into that position in the game and if anything we were actually quite comfortable and then we've conceded a goal that was very avoidable. "Credit to Chesterfield, they waited and waited and the front man took his chance very well. He was the difference really."
