Holdsworth sympathises with Imps

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth took no joy from sending Lincoln out of the Football League - courtesy of a 3-0 victory - but was pleased his side did a `professional' job. The Imps went into the final day knowing victory would ensure their safety, but they slipped a defeat which, coupled with Barnet's 1-0 victory over Port Vale, meant they fell out of the Football League. Lincoln's problems started when veteran Jamie Clapham felled Jermaine McGlashan in the area after 57 minutes, allowing Danny Hylton to net from the spot. Luke Guttridge then added a brace as the Shots claimed the points. Holdsworth said: "It gave no pleasure to send Lincoln down. My intention was simply for the team to put in a professional performance. "I thought my players were fantastic they handled the situation well. I thought we were immense in the second half. We were superb but I'm extremely disappointed for Lincoln and their fans."
