Holdsworth Looking To Cause Problems

Aldershot Town take on Oxford United tomorrow afternoon and speaking ahead of the game, he told the clubs official website that he is looking to cause the opposition "problems".

Aldershot Town manager Dean Holdsworth is hoping that his side can finally find that spark which will enable The Shots to re-ignite their League Two season this Saturday and prevent his full first campaign in charge, fizzling into insignificance.

The Shots began the season with massive amounts of effort, however apart from a good Carling Cup run, the season has turned sour with boring, under par performances and as the club enter the post Christmas period, it is crucial that the team turn around their fortunes.

With just four points having been picked up from a possible eighteen, it will continue to be  tough ask – especially as an inform Oxford United make the short trip to the EBB Stadium on Saturday and speaking to the clubs official website ahead of the game, Holdsworth said: “They’re a strong side.  They seem to have found a lot of confidence from their players, the forwards are doing their jobs and so are their defenders and for them to be disappointed that they didn’t beat Crawley last weekend, is a big statement.

“We’ll have respect for Oxford, they’re a huge club and they’re desperately trying to get out of League Two.

“We gave a good account of ourselves up there [at the Kassam Stadium] when we were down to ten men and I felt we did ourselves a lot of good.

“We’ve had a lot of changes through injuries and suspensions of late and it’s not been an easy time for us, but we’ll stick together and work hard and we’re looking to cause them problems.”

Don't forget, we'll have the full team line-ups ahead of tomorrows kick off, as well as our match report and all the reaction following the game.
