Holdsworth hails Rodman impact

Boss Dean Holdsworth lauded super-sub Alex Rodman after the striker netted his first goal since joining from Tamworth to earn Aldershot a 1-1 draw at Morecambe. Rodman produced a fine finish from Jermaine McGlashan's far-post cross to level things up after Andy Holdsworth gave Morecambe the lead. Holdsworth said: "Alex was really ill and I don't know how he even got off the bench to be honest. I'm glad he did because he scored a superb goal and showed just what an exciting player he is. "We had a squad that was hit by injuries and sickness and to make a long journey like this and get a good point showed great character and I am delighted. "I wasn't happy with the goal we conceded and we will have to look at that but we battled all night against a good side. "It was one of those character building trips for all sides because we were short of numbers so a point here is a really good result. We have a run of home games coming up now so hopefully we can pick up points in those games and continue to climb the table."
