Holdsworth content with improved Shots

Aldershot manager Dean Holdsworth was upbeat about his side's improved display after they bounced back from their weekend defeat to draw 1-1 with Gillingham. The Shots lost 2-1 to Port Vale on Saturday, but took the lead through Danny Hylton against the Gills before John Nutter levelled direct from a free-kick. Holdsworth said: "We are disappointed with the result, having taken the lead we couldn't quite hold out for the win. "We scored a great goal, it was a lovely take by Danny, but they've gone up the other end and scored an equally good goal about which we can't do all that much about." Holdsworth added: "It's a great sign of the character in the squad that we've responded well from the result on Saturday, defensively especially, we marshalled them really well. "Our passing was particularly impressive. We looked much more secure and confident in possession and played some really nice stuff."
