Aldershot Town have announced that captain Ben Herd has signed a new one-year contract with the club so will be remaining at the EBB Stadium during the 2012-13 season.
The excellent news means that the popular defender has opted to remain with The Shots despite reported interest from several League One sides, giving everyone connected with the club an additional boost following other recent signings.
Herd missed just one of the team’s 54 matches during 2011-12.
