Frustration for Owers

Aldershot assistant manager Gary Owers was left frustrated after seeing his side held to a goalless draw by Wycombe. The Chairboys endured a late onslaught that saw Danny Hylton's header come off the crossbar from a Jamie Vincent cross with six minutes remaining, but Wycombe held on. "We've been very unlucky. We've seen a couple of really decent chances go astray," said Owers. "There were a couple of goalmouth scrambles which Wycombe survived and then we've hit the bar with minutes remaining, so we're disappointed not to have won. "Port Vale and Shrewsbury are now the top two sides in the league, and anyone who saw our games against them recently will tell you we gave them a real good game, so I see the side competing towards the top this year. "It's going to be a tight division this year, as it was last season. There'll be around three or four points between the promotion places and the bottom half. But we want to judge ourselves after the 46 games, rather than the seven we've had so far."
