Duffy searches for unity

Aldershot chief executive Peter Duffy has vowed to appoint a new manager that will bring unity to the club after Monday's sacking of Kevin Dillon. Dillon, who spent 14 months in charge of the Shots and led them to the play-offs last season, was relieved of his duties due to "different ideas as how to take the club forward". Duffy has revealed the appointment will be imminent and be in the best interests of the Shots. "We expect to appoint in the near future and I am confident that they will receive a warm welcome from all the stakeholders at the club. "It is imperative the new managerial appointment provides cohesion amongst all stakeholders at the football club, internally and externally, to unite our club as we look forward to a bright and healthy future in the Football League. "As we enter the second half of the season, it is a shared sense of direction, unity in working together and determination to improve that will begin the transformation. Replacing the football manager is not the panacea."
