The official Aldershot Town website has confirmed that Stefan Payne has been released by the club and joined Sutton United.
In the original announcement, the club had said the player had joined on a season long loan which was confusing as when he had signed for the club, it was until the end of the 2011-12 season but the local Sutton media announced that he had signed a contract with his former club.
Today's announcement confirms what many had believed following the players departure from the club.
