Aldershot Town captain Anthony Charles has extended his contract for a further year. 29-year-old Shots defender Anthony Charles has signed a one-year extension to his contract. The club captain has made 185 appearances for The Shots and was a key part of last season's squad that reached the Coca-Cola League Two play-off semi-finals, making 38 appearances. Speaking to the clubs official website Assistant Manager Gary Owers said: "It is especially pleasing that Anthony has signed for another year.  He was an important member of the squad during last season and it is important to secure another member bringing the continuity too. "He played part of last season out of position too at left back but wherever he played he always did a good job and possessed a good attitude." Speaking on the players who are yet to agree to their new contract offer he continued:  "It is a quiet period at the moment across the country with little happening on the player front. We are still trying to finalise a number of contracts and hope to be able to do this within the next seven to ten days."
