As you were for Shots

Aldershot boss Dean Holdsworth is unlikely to change his winning formula when second-placed Port Vale visit the Recreation Ground.

Holdsworth kept faith with an unchanged side and watched as the Shots saw off high-flying Burton 1-0 at the Pirelli Stadium.

It left the struggling Hampshire outfit four games unbeaten on their travels but it is at home where they have found things hard this season, winning just one of nine games and only scoring twice in the process.

Centre-back Michael Hector arrived on loan from Reading on Thursday afternoon but he is likely to have to make do with a place on the bench.

It was a day of change prior to the loan window closing as Myles Anderson and Jack Munns returned to their parent clubs while Scott Donnelly also departed. Doug Bergqvist and Jordan Roberts returned after loan spells elsewhere.

Craig Reid (knee), Olly Lancashire (abdomen), Ross Worner (back) and Craig Stanley (broken leg) remain sidelined.

New signing Liam Chilvers will go straight into the Port Vale squad for the trip.

The centre-half, who had a loan spell at Vale Park last season when he was on the books at Notts County, making 12 appearances for the Burslem club, re-joined Micky Adams' side on Thursday on loan from Telford.

Elsewhere, Sam Morsy is available again after a three-match suspension and the midfielder could go straight back into the starting line-up.

Skipper Doug Loft, who has been out with a calf injury, returned to training on Thursday but he is unlikely to be involved.

Meanwhile, Vale's bid to sign two players on loan - one of them Notts County striker Lee Hughes - has been rejected by the Football League Appeals Committee.
