Reid worry for Shots

Aldershot will assess Craig Reid ahead of their FA Cup first-round tie at home to non-League Hendon.

Reid, the club's top scorer this season with seven goals, injured his knee during the warm-up prior to last Saturday's goalless draw at Dagenham. Even if he does pass a fitness test, Reid may still be rested as a precaution with one eye on Tuesday's home clash against Wycombe.

Holdsworth was due to name an unchanged side at Victoria Road after the Shots ended their winless run with victory at Southend four days earlier but Reid's injury meant a recall for Adam Mekki.

Scott Donnelly returned to the bench against the Daggers after a spell on the sidelines with a groin injury and may get a run-out this weekend.

Olly Lancashire (abdomen) is missing for around a month, joining long-term absentees Ross Worner (back) and Craig Stanley (broken leg) in the treatment room.

Hendon manager Gary McCann will be without suspended trio Scott Shulton, Elliott Charles and Scott Cousins for the tie.

Grenada striker Charles was dismissed for his part in an altercation at the end of the Greens' 2-1 victory over Corby Town in the last round of the competition.

This will be Hendon's 21st appearance in the first round of the FA Cup in their history and the Ryman Premier Division strugglers will be hoping their cup run can kick-start their season.

McCann's men are currently languishing in 20th place in the league but know further success in the FA Cup could boost their form as well as their finances.
