Record-breaking Shots shoot down Bees

Guy Madjo scored twice as Aldershot beat out-of-sorts Barnet 4-1 to record their fifth successive win in League Two.

The Shots also made club history in the process having never previously won five games on the trot as a Football League club.

After just five minutes they took the lead. From Adam Mekki's corner, Sonny Bradley's powerful header was saved by Dean Brill, but striker Madjo bundled the ball home from the rebound.

Danny Hylton extended the lead 11 minutes later when he met captain Ben Herd's cross from the right with a glancing header.

Aldershot made it 3-0 after half an hour, Troy Brown got on the end of Mekki's ball into the box and scored with a half-volley on the turn.

Five minutes into the second half, Hylton put Madjo through on goal and following a mix-up between defenders Jordon Mustoe and substitute Jack Saville, the Cameroonian slotted in.

Substitute Charlie Taylor pulled one back for Barnet shortly afterwards when Jordan Obita's long-range shot was stopped but fell nicely to the striker.
