Aldershot 1-0 Barnet: Match Report

22 March 2011 22:09
Barnet low after Hy strike Danny Hylton fired Aldershot to a 1-0 win over struggling Barnet. The 22-year-old's 60th-minute finish left the relegation-threatened Bees three points from safety having played four games more than Burton above them. Anthony Charles almost opened the scoring with a looping header, but the Shots defender then nearly turned villain when he sold Jamie Young short and the keeper's clearance hit Mark Marshall and skimmed agonisingly wide. Young pulled off a spectacular reaction save from Mark Byrne's effort before Hylton and Peter Vincenti spurned close-range chances to give Dean Holdsworth's men the lead. Barnet's back line sank deeper after half-time and they were finally pierced when Vincenti slipped through Hylton to calmly stroke home. Matty Parsons' late dismissal for two yellow cards deepened the gloom for Barnet.
