Naismith at the double

Two goals from Cowdenbeath midfielder Kal Naismith earned his side all three points in a 2-1 win over Albion at Central Park.

Naismith's first goal came after 21 minutes, the Rangers loanee breaking the deadlock with a left-footed effort after good work from Thomas O'Brien on the left wing.

The 19-year-old then doubled the lead for Colin Cameron's side eight minutes before half-time from the penalty spot. That came after Naismith had been upended by Albion midfielder Christopher Boyle inside the area.

Albion came back into the game seven minutes before the full-time whistle thanks to Scott Chaplain's left-footed effort but the striker was then dismissed for violent conduct.

That scuppered their chances of finding a leveller and allowed Cowdenbeath to stay second in the Irn-Bru Scottish Second Division table.
