Albion V Stenhousemuir at Cliftonhill Stadium : Match Preview

03 February 2012 14:01
Loanee may make debut Albion will give teenage striker Jack Werndly the opportunity to show what he can do at some point against Stenhousemuir after he joined on loan from Rangers. Midfielder Tony Stevenson and front man John Gemmell are suspended but full-back Barry Russell looks set to return after three months out with a hamstring injury as Jordan Halsman is struggling with an ankle knock. Manager Paul Martin said: "Jack looked good in his first training session with us and will feature at some point against a Stenhousemuir side we have still to beat this season. "We drew here and lost 3-0 at their place in a game where we missed chances with Andy Rodgers and Stewart Kean showing finishing of the highest level." Third-placed Stenhousemuir will be without defender Martyn Corrigan and winger Stevie Murray through long-term injuries. But the spirit amongst the Warriors is good following last week's 1-0 success over East Fife. Assistant manager Kevin McGoldrick said: "After a sticky run recently it was good to pick up three points again last week. We had to hang on at times but hopefully the confidence we have taken from that result will help in this one. "Albion Rovers will be looking for the win that gets their season going again but we want the three points to bed us in further in a play-off spot. It should be a good game where no quarter is given or asked."
