Albion too strong for Shire

Albion held off a second-half fightback from East Stirling to win 3-2 in a thriller at Cliftonhill.

Albion took the lead midway through the first half when Gary Phillips nodded home Mark McGuigan's cross and Chris Dallas doubled the Wee Rovers' advantage five minutes before the break with a close-range finish.

Paul Quinn gave East Stirling hope 17 minutes from time as he found the top corner with a right-footed strike before Scott Chaplain slid home to restore Albion's two-goal cushion just two minutes later.

The Shire were back in it again after 77 minutes when Quinn converted from the penalty spot after Graeme MacGregor was brought down by Phillips. But Albion held their nerve to record all three points.
