Jamie Longworth tap-in secures all three points for Stranraer against Albion

Stranraer recorded a 1-0 victory over Albion at Cliftonhill to add further momentum to their play-off push in Scottish League One

The Blues scored the only goal of the game when Mark McGuigan sprinted clear of the home defence, and slid the ball to fellow striker Jamie Longworth who completed the simple task of tapping the ball into the net after 38 minutes.

The encounter took an ugly turn when Rovers forward Gary Fisher - who had only just returned from suspension - was sent off for using foul and abusive language with 20 minutes remaining.

In the 85th minute, Stranraer survived late pressure when Rovers striker Alistair Love's header crashed off the bar, but the visitors now move level on points with their opponents Albion, as well as Airdrie who occupy fourth place.
