Peterhead 5-1 Airdrie Utd: Report

14 December 2010 22:09
Five-star display from Peterhead David Ross scored twice as Peterhead thrashed 10-man Airdrie 5-1 at Balmoor. The home side led after just three minutes, Graeme Sharp scoring his first of the season from Martin Bavidge's cross from six yards. Peterhead doubled their advantage after 39 minutes through Nicky Clark's top-corner finish - his third goal in five games - before David Ross made it three a minute before half-time from close range. Airdrie pulled one back after 51 minutes, Scott Gemmill heading in, but their comeback hopes were dashed 20 minutes from time after Paul Lovering was shown a straight red card for violent conduct. Ross fired in his second and Peterhead's fourth after 79 minutes, finding the top corner from 12 yards, before a Ryan McCord own goal in stoppage time completed a miserable night for the visitors.
