O'Byrne back for basement-dwellers

Bottom-of-the-table Airdrie will look to make it back-to-back wins against Stranraer and they have defender Michael O'Byrne available again after suspension.

However, he may miss out anyway as a move to a League Two club is being discussed.

The Diamonds have a long list of absentees including Chris O'Neill (groin), Grant Drummond (knee), Grant Evans (ankle), Martin Hardie (calf) and John Boyle (knee).

Manager Gary Bollan has demanding consistency from his men, and said: "We have shown how good we can be against Rangers and Dunfermline recently but we showed how poor we can be against Ayr. If we play as positively as we can, we can win this game."

Stranraer will be without Chris Aitken (ankle) and Marc Corcoran (hip).

The Blues were defeated 3-2 at Dunfermline on January 11 and their game with East Fife was called off last week due to a water-logged pitch.

Manager Stephen Aitken said: "We were desperate to get back into action after losing at East End Park; waiting another week has made that feeling stronger.

"Airdrie will have taken a huge boost from beating Dunfermline last week so we have to go out and hit top form to win."
