Airdrie add Adam Brown for Rangers cup visit

Airdrie manager Gary Bollan has added former St Mirren midfielder Adam Brown to his squad ahead of the Scottish League Cup second-round visit of Rangers.

The Diamonds boss will be without Caolan McAleer after his dismissal against Brechin at the weekend as well as the injured Marc Fitzpatrick (knee) and Jim Lister (groin).

Bollan said: "I am pleased that we are going into this game after a good 90 minutes on Saturday. We have been having one good half and then a bad half and hopefully that is out of our system now.

"Rangers have been flying but if we play at the top of our game for 90 minutes then we will give ourselves a chance."

Rangers boss Mark Warburton has again reported a near fully-fit squad, although goalkeeper Cammy Bell remains on the sidelines for the Ibrox club.

The former Kilmarnock stopper is recovering from a minor knee injury but has seen a specialist and Warburton hopes to see him return soon.

Gers will aim to make it a magnificent seven victories in a row on Wednesday night - they have scored 20 goals already, shipping just four at the other end.

But while their start has been blemish free so far, centre-back Rob Kiernan insists life has not been easy for the Glasgow giants.

He said: "Not easy at all. It's obviously nice, but it's just a start and there is a lot more to come. It's been a good start but we're nowhere near where we want to be, nowhere near the finished article.

"I think everyone wants to beat Rangers. The more I hear about the more I see it's a cup final and everyone wants to have one over us but we can only do what we can do.

"I don't think there's any added pressure. I think in every game we're expected to turn up and win and that's our objective."
