Airdrie begin life without Coogans

Airdrie will be without departed striker Liam Coogans for their home game against Peterhead.

Coogans completed his move to Huddersfield this week and Airdrie manager Gary Bollan will name his side side after checking on the fitness of Nathan Blockley and Scott Gray.

The Diamonds have started their season with three defeats in a row, but Bollan is not downbeat.

He said: "We are playing well, but the one thing we are not doing yet is taking our chances.

"I'm looking for that to be rectified against Peterhead.

"There is no need to panic as we have the players that can score goals, but we also need to be good at the back as Peterhead have players that can hurt you."

The visitors welcome back Graeme Sharp and Andy Rodgers after suspension, but Fraser McLaren remains unavailable due to a hamstring injury.

Manager Jim McInally is pleased his side is finally playing a League One game.

He said: "Last weekend was a strange start to the league as we were playing the team that were promoted alongside us.

"It was not our best performance, but we got a point.

"We are going into the unknown to some extent now, but we do know Airdrie played well against Stenhousemuir, but could not score."
