Diamonds wait on trio

Airdrie boss Jimmy Boyle will check on three players ahead of the visit of Brechin.

Chris O'Neill, Jim Lister and David Sinclair will all undergo fitness tests, with Boyle hoping that none of them join John Boyle on the sidelines. The Diamonds skipper is continuing his recovery from knee surgery.

Airdrie won at home for the first time in 13 months when they defeated Stranraer three weeks ago and Boyle is hoping that they can add another three-point haul quickly.

He said: "Now that we have that monkey off our back I am hoping that we can build an impressive home record.

"However, Brechin will be tough opponents but if we can get our sleeves rolled up and dominate the play we can win the three points."

City will give a fitness test to Stephen Robb but Derek Carcary (hamstring) remains on the sidelines.

Graham Hay is also unavailable as he serves the second game of a two-match suspension.

Brechin are looking to secure their first win in five attempts and Glebe Park boss Ray McKinnon is asking his men to stop being so wasteful in front of goal.

"Our general play is good and we would have more wins than we have if we had taken even half the chances that we have created," said McKinnon.

"Hopefully we can put that right at Airdrie."
