Bollan waits on Boyle

Airdrie look to complete a clean sweep of wins over visitors Ayr with manager Gary Bollan delaying naming his team until a late check on Paddy Boyle (ankle).

Bryan Gilfillan continues to be out with a fractured cheekbone and Jim Lister is missing with a groin problem.

Bollan said: "It was disappointing to lose at Forfar last weekend and severely dented our play-off hopes. The only way we can keep them going is by beating Ayr, so we will look to do that.

"They are fighting to avoid relegation and have improved under Ian McCall, so it will be a difficult game."

Ayr's only absentee will be experienced defender Martyn Campbell (illness) as he looks to keep the Honest Men above Stenhousemuir in the race to avoid a play-off to maintain their League 1 status.

Boss Ian McCall said: "The first 40 minutes against Peterhead last weekend was really good and we deserved to be more than two goals up.

"We lost a goal just before half-time and that changed everything and we went down 4-2.

"Airdrie will be tough opponents but if we can be clinical we can win. I'm not worried if our performance levels are not as good as they can be as winning is what matters now."
