Forfar hit for five
Airdrieonians boosted their survival hopes as they thumped 10-man Forfar 5-1 at the Excelsior Stadium.
Gregor Buchanan headed the hosts in front after 15 minutes when he rose highest to head home Jamie Bain's cross.
And they doubled their advantage four minutes later, Bain finishing from close range after some good work by Liam Watt.
The Diamonds were in rampant form and Keigan Parker made it three goals in 22 first-half minutes when he swept home a neat finish inside the box.
Forfar's afternoon worsened when Iain Campbell was shown a straight red card for his challenge on Bain, but they did pull a goal back through Dale Hilson five minutes before the break.
But any chances of a comeback were soon dashed as James Lister headed home a fifth shortly after the restart and Watt added further gloss with another neat effort eight minutes from time.
