Dunfermline extend unbeaten run with win over Airdrie

Goals from Michael Moffat and Shaun Byrne saw Dunfermline extend their unbeaten run to seven games with a 2-0 victory over Airdrie at the Excelsior Stadium.

Moffat scored his sixth goal of the season in the seventh minute as he powered a header past Airdrie goalkeeper Neil Parry following Rhys McCabe's cross.

Substitute Shaun Byrne, who replaced the injured McCabe after the break, made an instant impact as picked up Ryan Wallace's through ball to convert Dunfermline's second after 54 minutes, before a series of saves from Neil Parry kept the score at 2-0.

With the win Allan Johnston's men, who have now scored 39 goals this season, remain second in the Ladbrokes Scottish League One table, a point off leaders Ayr, while the Diamonds are now 10 points off Dunfermline in third.
