Ryan Thomson heads late winner for Stranraer
Stranraer built on last week's important win at Forfar with an impressive 1-0 return at Airdrieonians.
The first half was an ugly affair as both sides lacked creativity, with six players booked in a fractious opening.
When the more fluent football flowed, the Diamonds were disappointed not to take the lead when Liam Watt had a penalty saved superbly by David McGurn.
The Blues backed up that fillip with a strong finish to the half. Ryan Thomson had two headers on goal but both were saved by Neil Parry.
The second period seemed to be winding towards a hard-fought draw but in the final 10 minutes Craig Pettigrew flung in a cross for Thomson to nod in the Stranraer winner.
