Who Next For Cherries Hot Seat?
Now that Groves and Brooks have been removed from their managerial duties, who is going to be next on the managerial merry-go-round?
With AFC Bournemouth now looking for their 3rd manager in 2012 alone, thoughts turn to who is likely to be next in the Cherries hot seat with first team affairs likely to be looked after by first team coach Dennis Rofe for the trip to Coventry City on Saturday.
Inevitably Harry Redknapp's name has been mentioned, and ruled out, with Mitchell saying: "Harry has nothing to do with any decision I have made. I know Harry and I speak to him most days. If he felt he wanted it he would phone me. It's not for me to offer Harry a job. He has not given me an indication that he wants the job".
Mitchell is also quoted as saying in the Bournemouth Evening Echo: "It is not an easy task to change things when people have given their all and believe in what they are doing, but it is results driven. It is a sad day for me because I have seen what they have put into the club and the efforts they have made. A lot of supporters aren't aware of that. Unfortunately, the luck has not been with them and, after a lot of hard work, things did not work out for them. I wish them all the best and would like them to consider staying at the club in the positions they were in, but that will be entirely up to them. I know it would be the right thing for the club. I have always made it clear that the way they were trying to produce young players and make them play was very important. We have no intention to relieve anybody in the youth department of their position. We could have the capacity to do more with the players and maybe have greater numbers. To lose them completely from the scene would be a step back for the club and I don't want that to happen".
Also linked have been the likes of Eddie Howe (why would he want to return from Burnley after the grief Mitchell & Co gave him first time round?), Glenn Hoddle, Gary Johnson, Steve Coppell and Steve Cotterill.
