Vokes form pleases Bond

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond was full of praise for striker Sam Vokes after his double strike earned the Cherries a surprise 2-0 win at home to Nottingham Forest.

The 18-year-old Wales Under-21s international took his tally for the season to seven, with Bond delighted by his young forward's progress.

He said: "Sam had a couple of chances before he scored, but he took his goals really well and I am pleased for him.

"He is a big lad, who if anything has outgrown his strengths, but in the last three months I have seen a big improvement in the technical side of his game and his belief.

"He feels he is now in the team on merit rather than playing because of injuries, but he still has got an awful lot to do.

"But he's a smashing lad who had taken his chance."
