Trialists aim to impress Bond

Bournemouth boss Kevin Bond is running the rule over several trialists, including former Northern Ireland international Phil Mulryne, as he looks to strengthen his squad before the start of the season in just over four weeks' time. Greg Akcelrod, previously with Paris St Germain, former Portsmouth defender Jason Pearce and ex-Nottingham Forest midfielder Kevin James are also hoping to earn Dean Court contracts. "As I've said many times before, we're really only concentrating on players who can get into the first-team and unless I feel they can fit into that category, then I'll be hard pushed to do anything for them," Bond told the Bournemouth Echo. "I thought they deserved the opportunity for me to have a look at them during pre-season, so we'll have to wait and see what happens."
