Stick By Us - Cook
Defender, Steve Cook, urges the fans to stick by the team despite recent disappointments.
With the Cherries licking their wounds after a 3-1 home defeat on Saturday, Steve Cook is urging the fans to stick by the first team as they continue to adjust to life at the higher level.
Speaking in the Bournemouth Evening Echo, Cook is quoted as saying: "We weren't good enough on the ball. We were very disappointed because that was the worst performance we had given at home since the gaffer took over. We are going to have to bounce back quickly because we have another two tough games coming up. I would urge the fans to stick with us. It is early days and we have had a great start. We have got a young team and not many of us have played in this league. In the second half, there were a lot of positives. We looked dangerous going forward, even with 10 men, and Tommy and Wardy put themselves on the line and blocked countless shots. It is easy to look back and say 'We weren't good enough' but we just have to put it right against Leeds on Tuesday. The best way to bounce back is to get three points away from home. It is frustrating for the supporters. They work hard and pay their hard-earned money to watch us play well and we didn't perform on Saturday, so I feel for them. But when you look at how well we have done and how far we have come, it is not all going to go right and we are going to get games like that. We are a team. We stick by each other and, hopefully, the fans will stick by us. We want to go into the international break with two wins and show what we are all about".
