Former Southampton chairman Rupert Lowe has denied claims he is set to take over the running of League One outfit Bournemouth.
The Cherries are looking for a new supremo following Peter Phillips' decision to step down as chairman last week and Lowe, who left St Mary's after ten years with the Saints, had been tipped to take over at Dean Court.
However he described the newspaper reports making the claims as "complete rubbish", despite earlier not ruling out a return to football in a new boardroom role.
He told the Daily Telegraph: "This is the first time I have been asked about whether I might return to football. All I can say is that I might.
"But whether I wish to get entangled in the mad business of football, I'm just not sure yet.
"Quite apart from whether I would or would not be interested, at the moment I am still locked into Southampton, because they said they would buy my remaining shares and, as yet, they haven't.
"I think you always miss it to some extent, but I haven't formulated a view as to what I am going to do longer term."
