Give Me A Chance - Thomas

Wes Thomas is hoping that the new management team will give him a chance back at Dean Court.

With Wes Thomas back in the ranks at Dean Court, the young striker is hoping that he's going to get his chance with Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall back in charge.

The recent loanee to Portsmouth is quoted in the Bournemouth Evening Echo as saying: "He (Howe) seems keen to give me a chance so, hopefully, I will get that because I feel that I can offer the team quite a lot. I think I have proved that I can score goals at this level and it is just about now getting the chance and getting a manager who believes in you as a player. When I went to Portsmouth, Michael Appleton believed in me and sat me down and spoke to me about what he expected of me. When a manager believes in you, you go out with confidence and that is what happened with me at Portsmouth. I didn’t think I was getting the backing when Paul Groves was in charge and that is why I don’t think the supporters saw the best performances from me. It is a fresh start now so, hopefully, I will be in the team again and scoring goals".

For his part, manager Eddie Howe is quoted as saying: "He is quick, he is decent in the air and he has certainly got mobility and will stretch defenders and back fours. And he can score goals. He has scored goals for Portsmouth this season and when he first came here, I think his record was nearly one in two. That is not a bad record to have at any level and he has got a lot of admirers up and down the division, so we are pleased to have him with us. He won’t be going anywhere else, I want to make that clear. He is here to fight for his place with us and, hopefully, he will take that".
