Coventry City Reaction - Cherries II

Here's further post match reaction to the third defeat in 10 days.

Midfielder Eunan O'Kane, speaks about the need for the Cherries to end their recent poor form with a win at Leyton Orient this weekend where a large Cherries contingent is expected.

Speaking on the Clubs Official Web Site, O'Kane is quoted as saying: "It was completely different to the weekend game. Although we lost, I felt we had a genuine goal threat - we had an awful lot of chances and a lot of crosses in to the box. We just needed the ball to fall for someone, but that just didn’t happen. Coventry got bodies in the right areas at the right times, which they needed to, because with the amount of pressure we had, most teams would have crumbled. I also don’t think they had a goal threat. They scored one which we felt could have been prevented long before he shot, and I felt the penalty was harsh on Grabbs".

On the match official who were rounded on by the home support: "The officials didn’t put the ball in the back of the net. We had an opportunity to defend the free kick and even if you are 100% sure that a free kick shouldn’t have been given their way, we still had to defend it. I did speak to the referee afterwards and said I felt it was a little harsh. He felt it was a penalty but said he would look at it. If he sees it and feels he’s wrong and learns from it, then hopefully the next time we have him, the same scenario won’t arise again. We have managed to bounce back before quite quickly after a setback. For some reason this time we haven’t. We can’t let three defeats turn in to four. We went out on Tuesday and did everything that we could to end the run. Unfortunately it didn’t pay off, but now we go to Leyton Orient and we will put everything in to it again, except this time hopefully coming away with a win".
