    Cork extends Cherries stay

    13 Feb 2007 - 12:38:24

Bournemouth manager Kevin Bond has agreed a deal to extend Chelsea teenager Jack Cork's loan spell at Dean Court until the end of March.

The 17-year-old initially moved to the Cherries on a one-month loan deal in November and made seven appearances for the League One side before returning to Stamford Bridge.

He began his second loan stint with Bond's side earlier this month and impressed in the recent victories against Chesterfield and Leyton Orient.

Bond told the Daily Echo: "It's terrific news for us, it now means he'll be available until that Tranmere game.

"Chelsea have agreed to extend it to the maximum 93 days of an emergency loan, so we're delighted with that.

"We were keen to try and get Jack here for the rest of the season, but Chelsea need him back for when they go off to play in the Dallas Cup in April.

"So although it's disappointing that he'll eventually have to go back, this is the next best thing.

"We'll just try and get the most out of him while he's here."

Bond has also offered trials to former Sheffield United trainee Shane Hill and ex-Bastia star Franck Matingou.
