Cherries snap up Spurs defender

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has strengthened his squad with the signing of Adam Smith.The 19-year-old defender has joined from Tottenham on a one-month loan deal and will go straight into the Cherries squad to face Carlisle on Saturday."I have been aware of Adam for a long time," Howe told the Bournemouth Daily Echo. "I watched him for the first time in a pre-season friendly about two-and-a-half years ago and he impressed me straight away."He is someone we have always kept tabs on and we are delighted to bring him here."Smith is an England under-21 international and has previous Football League experience, having spent loan spells with Wycombe and Torquay.
